Large scale observational studies find a positive relationship between native and exotic species richness (habitats with lots of native species have lots of invasive species) where as small scale experimental studies tend to find a negative relationship between native and exotic species (habitats with lost of native species have very few invasives). WTF? Probably lots of interacting reasons for this.... Ah, the problems of scale.
